ADA Compliance

Accessibility that’s monitored, not a one-time audit

An inaccessible site is a legal and reputational risk that resurfaces with every plugin update. We test against WCAG 2.1 AA continuously and fix what we find — it’s included in every maintenance plan, not sold as an add-on.

Why a one-time audit doesn’t hold

Most agencies sell an accessibility audit as a project: a report, a round of fixes, an invoice. Then a theme update ships a new button style, a plugin adds an unlabelled icon, and the site drifts out of compliance again within months — silently, because nobody’s watching.

Compliance isn’t a state you reach once. It’s a property of a site that has to be maintained the same way security and performance are.

What continuous monitoring actually includes

Automated scanning

Every deploy is scanned against WCAG 2.1 AA success criteria — color contrast, missing alt text, form labelling, heading structure, ARIA misuse.

Manual keyboard testing

Automated tools catch roughly a third of real issues. We tab through key user journeys by hand: can you reach and operate every control without a mouse?

Screen reader passes

Critical paths — navigation, forms, checkout — tested with a screen reader, not just checked against a rule engine.

Fixes, not just findings

Issues we find get fixed as part of your plan. You get a monthly record of what changed, not a PDF you have to hand to a developer yourself.

Accessibility is bundled into maintenance, not billed separately

Every WordPress Maintenance plan includes WCAG 2.1 AA monitoring as standard. It’s the same reasoning as security patching: skipping it is how risk quietly builds up.

What’s actually at stake

The legal exposure is real

ADA-related web accessibility lawsuits are filed against businesses of every size, not just large enterprises. Litigation risk doesn’t require intent — it requires an inaccessible site and a visitor who can’t use it.

Demand letters move fast

Many cases start as a demand letter, not a lawsuit — and responding with evidence of an active remediation process changes the conversation.

Accessibility questions

Does this guarantee we won’t be sued?

No one can guarantee that, and anyone who does is overselling. What continuous monitoring gives you is a documented, ongoing remediation process — the single strongest evidence you can produce if a claim is made.

Do you fix issues on our current theme and page builder?

Yes. Elementor, Divi, the block editor, and most page builders are all supported — accessibility issues are fixed within the templates you already have, not by forcing a rebuild.

What’s the difference between the audit and the monitoring?

The $499 audit is a snapshot: a full scan plus manual testing, delivered as a written report. Monitoring is the same testing repeated continuously as part of your maintenance plan, with fixes included.

Can we see an example of the monthly record?

Yes — ask on your discovery call and we’ll walk through a real (anonymised) example from an existing client.

Do you follow WCAG 2.1 or 2.2?

We test against WCAG 2.1 AA as the baseline, since it’s the standard most frequently referenced in litigation and regulation, and layer in 2.2 criteria where relevant.
