WordPress Maintenance
WordPress maintenance, done the way an engineer would do it
Every update tested on a staging copy before it touches your live site. Every change logged. Every month, a record of exactly what we did and why.
The reason sites break isn’t updates. It’s untested updates.
Auto-updates are a coin flip: most weeks nothing happens, and one week a plugin conflict takes down your checkout on a Saturday. Skipping updates is worse — that’s how sites get compromised. The answer isn’t a policy. It’s a process.
How a single update reaches your live site
Snapshot
A full backup of files and database is taken and verified before anything changes. The rollback point exists before the risk does.
Apply on staging
The update lands on an exact copy of your site first — same plugins, same data, same theme. Never on production.
Test what matters
Visual diff across key templates, plus a human check of the paths that make you money: forms, checkout, login, search.
Ship or hold
Clean updates go live. Broken ones are held, reported to you, and taken up with the plugin author — we don’t just skip them silently.
Verify & log
Post-deploy check on the live site, performance re-measured, and the change written into your monthly record.
If anything regresses after deploy, we restore from the step-01 snapshot. Median restore: four minutes. You get an explanation before you get a bill.
Every maintenance plan includes WCAG 2.1 AA monitoring
A theme update can break accessibility as easily as it breaks a layout — and unlike a broken layout, nobody reports it. We scan after every deploy and fix what we find.
Maintenance is in every plan
What changes between tiers is how fast we respond and how much development time you have — never whether your site is protected.

Maintenance questions
How often do you actually run updates?
Weekly as standard, with security releases expedited — usually within a few hours of a patch being published. Waiting a week to patch a known exploit is how sites get compromised, so those never queue.
What if an update breaks something after it goes live?
We restore from the snapshot taken before the deploy — median restore time is four minutes — then diagnose on staging and tell you what happened in writing. You never chase us for an explanation.
Do you touch our staging or development environment?
We build and maintain the staging copy ourselves as part of the plan. If you already have one and a development workflow, we’ll work inside it rather than around it.
Can we still make our own edits?
Yes. It’s your site and your logins. We’d just ask that plugin installs come through us — that’s the one change most likely to break something we can’t see coming.
We have a page builder. Is that a problem?
No. Elementor, Divi, Beaver Builder and the block editor are all routine. Builders make visual regression testing more important, which is exactly why every update goes through staging first.
